How Can I Not Volunteer

Picture
Congratulations Sr. Bernadette Yap, fmm. The Singapore National Council of Social Service (NCSS) celebrated its day of Outstanding Volunteer Awards. This is the Councils way of acknowledging the generous contributions to Social Service made by Singaporeans and others. At this year’s celebration 163 volunteers were honoured. Sr. Bernadette Yap, fmm was one of them, having given 36 years of volunteer service.
Sr Bernadette was chosen by Sr. Mary Soh who was the provincial then, in response to a request from Mr. Ee Peng Liang, 36 years ago. Her contribution to making a difference in the lives of people was featured in the Straitstimes, Saturday, November 10, 2018.

"We are women of different nations and cultures, choosing to live together in a fragmented world. Revealing the face of Christ by being a humanizing presence among people who suffer and are on the margins.Committing ourselves, with others to the care of creation and to the service of peace, justice and healing, where is most needed."
