#03 “St. Clare: Dare to Dream”, 7 Aug

Feast of St. Clare of Assisi is on 11 Aug!
The Portiuncula Working Adults Ministry from the Church of St. Mary of the Angels Singapore is organising a talk titled “St. Clare: Dare to Dream” by Fra Derrick Yap, OFM.
St. Clare, motivated by St. Francis’ dream to live the gospel life (which was quite radical then), decided to pursue this dream for herself, and inspired many others to do the same.  Foundress of the Poor Clares, St. Clare is a significant figure in the Franciscan family.  St. Clare had an absolute resolve to lead the simple, literal gospel life as Francis taught her; had courageous resistance to societal pressure; and most of all, a passion for the Lord which translated into generous concern for her sisters and the poor.

Friar Derrick will be sharing about the courage St Clare had; and to listen and follow the voice of the Lord in our hearts to pursue our deepest spiritual desire.

"We are women of different nations and cultures, choosing to live together in a fragmented world. Revealing the face of Christ by being a humanizing presence among people who suffer and are on the margins.Committing ourselves, with others to the care of creation and to the service of peace, justice and healing, where is most needed."
